Dr. Zeke Steer is CEO of Z-PULSE and founder and CEO of Milbotix, a Bristol spin-out developing smart garments for people with neurological and movement disorders and frailty. Zeke is also a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Health & Clinical Research at UWE Bristol and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Bristol Medical School.
Zeke began his career as an engineer working in the defence sector. Following his great-grandmother’s dementia diagnosis, he embarked on doctoral research at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (Bristol, UK) seeking a technological solution for behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. This research was commercialised with funding and support from Alzheimer’s Society and Innovate UK.
Zeke’s priorities at Z-PULSE are to advance the commercial proposition, establish key partnerships, and secure new funding. Drawing on his experience founding and scaling Milbotix, as well as his research expertise in dementia care technologies, he will help guide product development, aligning the technology with market needs, and representing Z-PULSE in strategic collaborations to accelerate its route to market.
